Busy schedule ahead for Proserpine bowlers
TWO games of social bowls were played on Wednesday where Fran Porter, Lill Burke, Flo O’Hanlon and Joan McGrath defeated Dell McCormack, John Lahney, June Blair and Gail Camm 27-14 and Norma Daniels, Reg Russell, Pam Selmes and Barbara Dammash defeated Trudy Hanne, Cathy Holmes, Heather Patullo and Joy Jeffries 18-17.
A great evening of trivia was enjoyed on Saturday night and winners for the night were The Experts – Gail Camm, June Blair, Joy Jeffries, Barbara Dammash, Ailsa Reinke and Joan McGrath.
With the AGM coming up, the nominations sheet for all com- mittee positions will be on the board this week.
There are a lot of things happening in the next few weeks with the final of this year’s consistency singles being played between Joan McGrath and Maree Daffara yesterday.
Wednesday, October 30 is life member Pam Selmes’ Day and Tuesday, November 5 is Melbourne Cup day.
Wednesday, November 6 is the Past President’s Day and Wednesday, November 13 is the Proserpine Ladies Bowling Club presentation day and president Maree Daffara’s trophy day.
On Sunday afternoon 21 players enjoyed perfect conditions for bowls.
Kevin Duell, Arthur Williams and Joy Jeffries defeated Trudy Hanne, John Dammash, Flo O’Hanlon and Kevin Thorogood 26-18, John Lahney, Fran Porter and Gail Camm defeated Carlie Albertson, Reg Russell and Barry Zillmann 23-17 and Heather Brown and Philip Brown defeated Matthew Camm and Barbara Dammash 22-10.
In the other game Janet Mortimer and Ross Reville defeated John Henderson and Maree Daffara 18-13.
The winner of this Sunday’s trophy with the highest winning score which was Joy Jeffries’ team.
This weekend the winning team of Jonathan Bye, Barry Sa- roglia and Scott Kinnear are to play in the Champion of Champion two bowl triples at Mackay Club.
This Sunday two competition games will be played with mixed pairs action featuring Joan McGrath and Shane Spann versus Arthur Williams and Flo O’Hanlon and the first semi-final of the mixed singles between Heather Brown and Wayne Handley.
Social bowls will also be available. Bowlers are encouraged to get their teams of four together for the Val and Jean De Boni Memorial Day on Saturday, November 9 and for the Dick Todd Memorial Day on Saturday, November 16.
