Busy week at Can­non­vale courts

WHIT­SUN­DAY TEN­NIS

ON FRI­DAY af­ter­noon 20 stu­dents of all na­tion­al­i­ties from the Col­lege of English hit the Can­non­vale courts for an af­ter­noon of so­cial ten­nis. There was plenty of laugh­ter, swing­ing of rac­quets, ca­ma­raderie and ten­nis balls go­ing ev­ery­where as they en­joyed a fun af­ter­noon.

Ju­nior so­cial ten­nis was ac­tion packed with the small courts and full size courts in ac­tion on Mon­day af­ter­noon.

The club wel­comed Rowan Kan- gru who played his first game of dou­bles.

Oth­ers play­ing fan­tas­tic ten­nis on the af­ter­noon were Cait­lyn Lind­sey-Wil­mott, Matthew Brown, Sage Smith, Jade Davis and Tay­lor Ban­nis­ter.

Con­grat­u­la­tions went to Re­beka Beveridge, Emma Bradtke, Amy Hunger­ford, Si­enna Mau and Trent Mur­ray who all trav­elled to Home Hill for the B fi­nals of the Ju­nior De­vel­op­ment Se­ries.

In other news Tues­day and Satur­day af­ter­noon and Tues­day evening had a won­der­ful show­ing of play­ers play­ing some great ten­nis. Thurs­day night at­ten­dance was down on the pre­vi­ous week and new faces are al­ways wel­come.

Car­dio ten­nis hit the courts on Tues­day morn­ing and evening and Thurs­day and Fri­day morn­ing.

Coach­ing pupils of the week were Jor­dan Men­zies, Matthew Brown and Jack Rai­teri who all put in a mas­sive ef­fort in their lessons.
