Costigan is still on leave

Whitsunday Times - - FRONT PAGE -

MEMBER for Whitsunday Jason Costigan remains on indefinite leave for personal reasons.

Mr Costigan sought and was granted the leave by the State Government’s chief whip more than two weeks ago.

A spokesperson from the Premier’s office confirmed yesterday that the Member was still on leave but his office in Proserpine was still operating as usual.

The spokesperson confirmed that constituents could still contact the office and that any enquiries about portfolio matters could be done through the appropriate ministerial offices.

It had been suggested last week that Mr Costigan would return to work this week but that has not occurred as yet.

Some members of the Liberal National Party were shocked two weeks ago when told of his leave.

This all comes as rumblings continue about his performance and after his office was allegedly broken into in recent weeks.

Mr Costigan has been unavailable for comment.
