A high intensity workout for all fitness levels in Cannonvale
THE sport of CrossFit has exploded throughout the world as a highly effective and fun work out that delivers fast results. Locals looking for this kind of dynamic training can find it at Fit in the Whit in Cannonvale.
Shane Renshall and Ben Croker, who recently relocated from Mackay to open their business which specialises in CrossFit and CrossFit gymnastic training are inviting everyone, of all fitness levels, down to their Garema Drive address.
Mr Renshall said he identified with the strong community feel of the Whitsundays and wanted to bring a spacious well-equipped facility that could cater to individual needs.
“The good thing about having two coaches in every session is that we can cater for the elite person to the beginner and every movement and every workout is scaled to that person,” he said.
“CrossFit workouts are timed and as a result are extremely competitive but the person that finishes last is always the most encouraged which is why people endure it and achieve such great results.”
CrossFit sessions are conducted over 60 minutes and include an introduction for new members before coaches provide a step-by-step program outlining the session’s mobility, warm-up, workout structure and stretching sequence.
All movements are demonstrated to members and the workouts focus on a particular area of gymnastic skills, strength building or metabolic conditioning.
Mr Crocker lost his father four years ago and said that as he struggled with depression, he stopped playing sport and gained weight. “A friend then invited me to attend a CrossFit session and I was addicted to the competitiveness of it and it gave me a drive for life again,” he said.
Fit in the Whit holds classes from Monday to Friday at 6am, 7am, 9.30am, 12pm, 5.30pm and 6.30pm and on Saturday at 7.30am and 8.30am.
