Wednesday’s Circle at Paddy’s

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY BUSINESS -

ROCK band Wednesday’s Circle are the latest act to entertain revellers at Paddy’s Shenanigans in Airlie Beach with performances from October 30-November 3.

The Melbourne band was once fronted by local musician Dylan Hammond, who still teams up with his former mates to perform live music whenever they can.

“We know each other musically pretty well so it’s almost like we never stopped and we still do shows all over the country depending on where any of us are and what gigs we get,” he said.

Hammond described the band’s style as funk-rock, “with a little bit of brass and some harmonies thrown in”. “People can expect a really good party band – we’re just going to have a good time and hopefully everyone will have a good time with us,” he said.

The band will be playing popular and more obscure covers as well as some of their original songs.

Paddy’s entertainment manager Trevor Green said they were always good entertainment.

“And everybody knows Dylan,” he said.

Wednesday’s Circle will take the stage from 11pm until the early hours each night. Entry is free except for Friday and Saturday when a $10 cover charge applies after 10.30pm.
