Selector’s day a big success at bowls club
LAST Tuesday was the ladies AGM followed by a selector’s day, which had a wonderful turnout.
After the meeting, the men were invited to join the ladies for lunch and the afternoon games with winners for the day being Jack Dobbins, Margaret Heeney and Margo Stanley defeating Wally Gray, Judy Chengody and Elaine Hadlow 15-9.
In the other games Tess Walker, Dale Hell and Keith Beetham defeated Tolma Camm, Col Howes and Doreen Peadon 14-10, Doreen Whitehouse, Alison Holmes and Jo Howes defeated Diane Dob- bins, Mae Secomb and Ken Ryder 14-10 and Dom Sposato and Lane Telford beat Eric Bottle and Jill Spencer 14 -10.
The men had a good turn out on Wednesday with winners for the day being Jack Dobbins, Steve Tattam and David Stock 29-1.
The jackpot stands at $241 as there was no winner this week, so it is worthwhile coming along to play.
Wednesday evening business house bowls is very competitive and all teams are trying their best to win.
Two of the leading teams play each other this Wednesday, so competition will be fierce.
Games start at 6.30pm and cost $15 for the game and dinner.
Friday night barefoot bowls was great fun, a wonderful group of locals came to enjoy the great atmosphere while enjoying the game.

Sunday social bowls was a little down on numbers due to other commitments, but those that attended had a good time.
Winner of the games were Dom Sposato and Margo Stanley defeating Maureen Barnard and Col Howes 26-11 and Doreen Whitehouse and David Stock beat Mable Davy and Steve Tattam 27-13.
Today is the start of a mixed pairs competition commencing at 6.30pm.
Cost is $10 per person and food will be available for purchase.

Saturday, November 2 is the start of the mixed triples, with play starting at 9am.
Col Howes, Jo Howes and Margo Stanley will play Henney Tattam, Margaret Heeney and Steve Tattam.
Afternoon games at 1pm will be Bob McMahon's team to play Kevin Jewell's team.
Rick Williams team will play the winner of morning game.
On Sunday, November 17 they will be holding a family come and try day from 10am.
Anyone interested in coming along to check out the game of bowls is most welcome.
This is a great opportunity for newcomers to the area.
