Veteran golf goes down to the wire
ONLY two strokes separate the winners in the veteran golf 18 hole competition this week.
Allan Greedy finished as the winner, clear of Tom Fleming on 74, Mick Burrows on 76 and Clive Hughes on 78.
Mark Conan was next closest on 80 and Harry Gellatley and Jim Dowell completed the run down on 81. Nearest-the-pin for the men was Trevor Paroz. In the nine hole competition Mick Burrows beat Jan Shuwalow on a count back after they both finished with 37.
Les Johns, Andrew McKay and Mark Conan were next closest on 39, followed by Clive Hughes on 40 and Albert Pini on 41.
Nearest-the-pins were Clive Hughes on 13 and Mandy Patterson on 16.
Next week is Melbourne Cup Day which will see players compete in a nine hole competition before finger food and drinks at the club house to watch the big race.
