More Whitsunday X Factor hopefuls
HE MAY be best known as the president of the Whitsunday Go Kart Club or the owner of Adam’s Earthworks, but Adam Stroud is also hoping he can make a name for himself on the television talent show X Factor.
Adam was one of three Whitsunday residents now known to have made it through to the show’s second round of auditions held in Mackay last week.
Also on the shortlist are Whitsunday singing teacher Corrine Hendrikse-Vinci ( Whitsunday Times, November 28) and 14-year-old Tayla Stevenson (current edi- tion, page 21). Adam, a rhythm guitarist with the duo ‘Final Trim’, was persuaded to audition by a number of his friends.
Describing himself as “more nervous than I thought I would be”, Adam sang Lonely Boy by Black Keys and Put a Candle in the Window by Credence Clearwater Revival, in front of the show’s producers, who gave him the green light.
Adam, Corrine and Tayla will now have to wait until March to discover whether they have made it through to the show’s televised auditions in Sydney next year.
AIM FOR FAME: Whitsunday resident Adam Stroud has made it through to the second round of auditions for X-Factor.
