Festive touch with real Christmas trees

Whitsunday Times - - YOUR HOME YOUR BACKYARD -

WITH the festive season now in full swing, the team at Plants Whitsunday are here to help decorate the home with a large variety of Christmas goodies including a wide range of living Christmas trees.

While there is zero chance of a white Christmas in the Whitsundays this year, the store’s collection of Christmas trees of all shapes and sizes can help achieve that traditional feel for the holidays.

Plants Whitsunday owner Jenny Stokes said there was nothing better than having a live tree in the house to decorate and put presents under.

If you look after it correctly you can keep it for years to come,” she said.

“The day after Christmas you should take the tree outside and water it immediately. If you leave it in a nice sunny spot and keep feeding it there is no reason why it won’t grow happily and be there ready for the next year.”

Plants Whitsunday has a number of different options for Christmas trees from the larger Daintree pines to lovely silver dust conifers.

They also stock lily pily trees which serve as great modern day Aussie Christmas trees.

“All of the staff at Plants Whitsunday are plant lovers and are happy to give advice and share their knowledge with customers,’ Ms Stokes said.

Their store is full of Christmas gift ideas including a massive variety of ornaments and garden art which would make a perfect present for friends or relatives.
