Weather interrupts bowls schedule
THE last week has been disrupted with the onset of the wet season, and there has not been a lot of bowls played this week.
Tuesday ladies day saw a small group playing with the winners for the day being Helen Scott, Margaret Heeney and Jill Spencer defeating Tolma Camm, Di Dobbins and Lane Telford 16-14.
Margo Stanley, Elaine Hadlow and Alison Holmes were away playing in the Tasman Triples on Lord Howe Island. They had a wonderful time and played some very close and exciting games, but unfortunately, did not come home with the prize money.
Wednesday the men were washed out and no games were played, let's hope for some fine weather this week.
Friday and Saturday nights saw private functions held at the club, so no Barefoot Bowls were played.
Anyone wishing to play this Friday should contact the club on 0488 754 184, cost is $15 per person and this includes your game and sausage sizzle.
Thursday night pairs has been cancelled for the moment, a new time for this competition will be forthcoming. Sunday social bowls had a nice roll up of players who ducked in and out of the showers during the afternoon but managed to finish their games.
Winners for the day were Henny Tattam, Maureen Barnard, Dom Sposato and Jill Spencer who defeated Ryan West, Paul Osborne, G North and Ken Ryder 13-6.
In the other game Wally Gray, Betty Nicolle and Steve Tattam defeated Col Howes, Nik Fernbach and Jo Howes 12 - 7.
Next Tuesday will be the ladies break-up party, sponsored by Jo Howes, all ladies are invited to attend this fun day at 9.30am.
They need to bring along something for lunch and a small present to put under the Christmas tree and are encouraged to bring a friend along to enjoy the day.
The club presentation night will be held on Saturday, December 14 from 6.30pm.
There will be entertainment after the dinner and presentations.
The Christmas raffle will also be drawn on that evening, tickets will be available at the club up to and including that night.
