Season coming to an end for veterans
THE veteran golfers played a nine and 18 hole competition this week.
Winner in the nine holes was Kath Borer who won the single stroke event on 37.
The runner-up was Albert Pini on 39 on a four-way count back from Robert Bright, Caroline Awdry and Tony Woodridge on 39.
Next closest were Peter Browning and Russell Reardon on 40.
Nearest-the-pins for the ladies was Jan Shuwalow and for the men Les Bradford.
In the 18 hole competition the winner was Russell Reardon on 76, runner-up on a count back was Mandy Patter- son on 78 ahead of Robert Bright on 78, Beryl Nowsworthy on 79, Barry Mortimer and Albert Pini on 80 and John Roser on 80.
Nearest-the-pins for the men were Rob Bright and ladies Mandy Patterson.
All players enjoyed perfect conditions on the golf course with 35 members playing in the standard weekly competition at home.
December 17 is the club’s break-up day and it will be a nine hole four ball stableford.
Players are welcome to invite their partners and after the nine holes there will be an end of year party at the club in Proserpine.
