FINE weather and a golf course in fantastic condition greeted 16 ladies last Wednesday for a stableford competition.

Tina Badenhorst revelled in the conditions to come in with 42 points and take first place.

Bernice Petersen placed second on a count back from Toni Clauss and Viv Demartini.

All three ladies had 34 points.

Nearest-the-pin winners were Mandy Patterson on hole 9 and Lyn Muller on 11.

From now until official competition begins in the first week in February, ladies may still play each Wednesday in a stableford competition format.

They need to nominate and pay at the clubhouse.

There is no specific hit off time so playing groups may decide this to suit themselves.

Congratulations went to Marnie Win and Trish McNeill for taking up positions on the Proserpine Club Committee for the 2014 year.

On Sunday it looked like it was going to be a little damp but the Dawnies did not get rained on playing the back 9.

The winner of the monthly mug competition was Ted Evans with 52/46, runner-up was Beryl Nosworthy 57/50 and third place went to Jim Evans with 54/51.

Nearest-the-pins went to Larry Muller on 13 and Chris Henderson on 16, Paul Grace was the snake putter and least number of putts with 13 was Al Greedy.

Winner of the Bradman’s title went to George Stevenson, after the game a donation of $1000 was made to the rescue helicopter service from the proceeds of the meat tray raffles.

Next Sunday will be on the front 9 followed by a Christmas get together at the Prince of Wales Hotel.
