Business confidence up

Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

BUSINESS confidence in the region is up, according to a survey by Whitsundays Marketing and Development Ltd (WMDL).

WMDL’s chief executive officer Danial Rochford said the results from the latest bi-annual survey, completed by about 150 people across the region, had clearly shown that the Whitsunday business community was optimistic about the future.

He said survey respondents were asked two key questions about how confident they were at the moment and how confident they felt about the next 12 months.

Compared to April 2013, the survey results showed an increase in positive business sentiment of nearly 30 per cent. Meanwhile negative sentiment was down by 25 per cent.

The outlook was equally positive. Looking forward over the next 12 months, positive business sentiment increased by 21.5 per cent, with negative business sentiment sitting at only 4.9 per cent.
