Christmas lights competition a delight for locals

Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

THE Whitsunday Times Christmas lights competition has kickedoff again, with homes from all around the region invited to take part.

Every year, enthusiastic Whitsunday residents delight the community by decorating their homes with a brilliant display of lights. They register in the competition with the Whitsunday Times, and we print the addresses through the month of December, so readers can tour the area, enjoying the lights and getting into the spirit of Christmas. The Whitsunday Times has been running the competition for many years, and it is a favourite with locals. This year, the Airlie Beach Hotel has donated the prize, with a $200 voucher going to the winner of the competition and $100 to the runner-up.

Ergon Energy has issued a simple set of safety tips for installing light displays, which can be found attivelighting.

To enter the competition register your address with the Whitsunday Times office on 4940 2100. Readers, keep your eyes open for next week’s story, or please visit our Facebook page for regular updates on entrants so you can enjoy the hard work they have put into their displays.
