Sailors cel­e­brate at Com­modore’s Ball

SAILORS of all ages were cel­e­brated at the Whit­sun­day Sail­ing Club’s 2013 Com­modore’s Ball on Satur­day night.

Achieve­ments of both off-beach and off­shore sailors were com­mended, with spe­cial awards for out­stand­ing ser­vice and ded­i­ca­tion also given out.

Whit­sun­day Sail­ing Club com­modore Jim Hayes ap­plauded all com­pet­i­tive sailors of the club for their ef­forts through­out 2013.

“The Com­modore’s Ball is a spe­cial event for the club as it recog­nises the great work of our ju­nior and se­nior sailors,” he said.

“It is a chance to put our best sailors in the spot­light and re­ward them for their ef­forts.”
