Bowls wrap­ping up for 2013

AIR­LIE BOWLS

LADIES bowls saw a small group play­ing in per­fect con­di­tions with win­ners for the day be­ing Henny Tat­tam and Margaret Heeney de­feat­ing He­len Scott and Jill Spencer 27-11.

In the other game Doreen White­house and Jo Howes de­feated Di Dob­bins and Margo Stan­ley 21-15.

On Wed­nes­day the men en­joyed their day also with only small num­bers pro­duc­ing very com­pet­i­tive games.

Jim Cairns, Dom Sposato and Barry Zill­man de­feated Jack Dob­bins, Herb Se­comb and John For­nasiero 27-23.

Wed­nes­day evening busi­ness house bowls had a great turn up and yes­ter­day was their Christ­mas break up and last game for the year.

The club thanked all the busi­ness houses who com­peted in this com­pe­ti­tion, and look for­ward to their par­tic­i­pa­tion again in 2014.

Fri­day night bare­foot bowls was a great suc­cess with around 50 peo­ple com­ing along to en­joy the great fa­cil­i­ties.

Cost is $15 for bowls and a sausage siz­zle.

This Satur­day evening the club is host­ing their pre­sen­ta­tion night with all mem­bers, friends and fam­ily en­cour­aged to at­tend.

Ladies will com­mence bowl­ing on a Wed­nes­day af­ter­noon as from next week,

Tues­day bowl­ing will recom­mence af­ter the mixed open day on Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 23.

WIN­NERS: Jen Wal­ters, Paul Os­borne Cheuk-ying Lee and Peter Bar­rett af­ter win­ning the mixed busi­ness bowls game last Wed­nes­day night.
