Whitsundays to host champs again

Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

AFTER the outstanding success of the PRG Australian Supermoto Championships held at the Whitsunday Raceway this year it has been confirmed the national will return again next year.

Riders, officials and motorcycle fans raved about the supermoto event and the Whitsunday Motosports Club was thrilled to announce that they will also host the 2014 championships.

With over 100 entries this year including a number of international riders, the club was stoked with the amount of participants representing this sport and with all the hype surrounding supermoto, it looks to be another huge turnout of competitors hitting the Whitsunday Raceway next June.

The event is scheduled for June 13-15 and will be bigger and better than before with the announcement that all will be championship classes.

This year’s championship classes were taken out by Queenslanders, with Ross Taylor winning the S1, local rider Andrew Mcliesh first in S2 and Mackay’s Luke Burgess taking out the S3.
