Miss­ing man seen in Air­lie

PO­LICE are ap­peal­ing for a man miss­ing from the state’s south to con­tact them af­ter he was sighted in Air­lie Beach ear­lier this month.

Matthew Shirv­ing­ton, 28, has been miss­ing from his Cooma home since June this year.

Ear­lier this month, one of Matthew’s friends saw him work­ing at a café in Air­lie Beach.

The friend ap­proached Matthew but he left with­out mak­ing con­tact.

Po­lice have since con­firmed with the café owner that Matthew was work­ing there us­ing the name Char­lie Thomp­son. He has not re­turned to work.

A coro­nial hear­ing had been set for next year to look into his dis­ap­pear­ance.

Investigators are now ap­peal­ing for Matthew to con­tact them so that his iden­tity can be con­firmed.

They want to make it clear that Matthew has not done any­thing wrong and does not have to dis­close his lo­ca­tion.
