Drink-driv­ers warned

THREE drink-driv­ers were picked up by Proser­pine Po­lice over the past week. The first was on Fri­day morn­ing when a P-plater blew 0.067 af­ter a big night out. The next was on Fri­day evening when a learner driver blew 0.047. Lastly, on Mon­day evening po­lice in­ter­cepted an un­li­censed driver in his un­reg­is­tered and unin­sured car, who re­turned a read­ing of 0.124.

Of­fi­cer in Charge of the Proser­pine sta­tion Act­ing Sergeant Ti­mothy Far­ran said po­lice would be ramp­ing up ran­dom breath tests as this num­ber of drink-driv­ers was un­ac­cept­able.
