Wedding industry excited about expo

THE Whitsundays wedding industry is excited about the inaugural Whitsundays Wedding and Honeymoon Expo to be held at the PCYC on Sunday, February 23.

The event is being organised by Whitsundays Marketing and Development Limited (WMDL) in partnership with key members.

WMDL acting chief executive officer Daryl Hudson said exhibitor stands at the event have now sold out with over fifty local businesses attending.

“The Whitsundays wedding industry will be showcasing their products and services to a large consumer base,”

“The expo is being marketed by WMDL in partnership with weddingswhitsun and is part of a larger Weddings in the Whitsundays campaign,” Mr Hudson said.

“There is a huge marketing push behind the event to encourage the regional drive market to not only attend the event but to spend a weekend away in the Whitsundays,’ Mr Hudson said.

“The expo provides a major opportunity for our local weddings industry to convert interest and exhibitors are very excited about the initiative,” Mr Hudson concluded.

Debbie Savy, chair of weddingswhitsun and owner of Tropix Photography said the event was a great initiative.

“A unified wedding and honeymoon expo has long been an event the weddingswhitsun committee have been wanting to see happen,” Mrs Savy said.

“As a local business owner, being provided with an opportunity to exhibit at such an event can really do wonders for potential new business opportunities,” Mrs. Savy concluded.

NEW EXPO: Members of the local wedding industry Jade Korosec, Mercedes Ireland, Wendy Blew, Lauriely Taylor, Kim Harris, Brooke Miles, Sandi Holman and Debbie Savy are excited about the upcoming expo.
