Business solutions to suit everyone

Whitsunday Times - - BETTER BUSINESS / WHITSUNDAY BUSINESS -

WHILE everyone else was enjoying a relaxing break over the new year period, mother and daughter team Julie Roberts and Rachel Cooper were busy moving their business Bookkeeping and Taxation Solutions to a new location in the main street of Airlie Beach.

Their business had outgrown its former location on Waterson Way and Rachel said the move was a “new year, new shop, new start.”

Julie started the business 25 years ago. It was called Coopers Clerical and Secretarial and operated from home.

The business was renamed Bookkeeping Solutions when daughter Rachel came onboard as a partner after completing her accounting degree and seven years working fulltime for an accounting firm in Toowoomba, with a focus on self-managed super funds. The pair then proceeded to build the business into what it is today.

The business, now known as Bookkeeping and Taxation Solutions keeps both partners very busy, which suits them because the new office location on Airlie’s main street, above Domino’s pizza, has enough room for them to increase their client base, work in privacy and provide a centralized, accessible location.

The mother and daughter team boast clients from across the country and abroad, and they attribute this to their commitment to customer service and the wide variety of services they offer.

“When clients leave town they continue to use us via modern technology. Basically they’re just very happy with our services,” Julie said.

They offer business solutions ranging from admin services, to bookkeeping and accounting services for both businesses and individuals, including business management and structure, superannuation, GST, BAS and tax returns.

Accounting expertise is not the only trait that runs in the family. Both ladies share a passion for gardening, and spend many hours nurturing their green thumbs. In addition to this, Rachel has two children and is in her second year studying for her CPA.
