Top DJ talent Will Sparks at Mama’s in Airlie Beach

Whitsunday Times - - CHILL IN THE WHITSUNDAYS -

SUPERSTAR DJ Will Sparks is performing at Airlie’s Mama Africa nightclub tonight.

At only 20-years-old, this young Melbournebased DJ and producer has already cemented his position as the undisputed king of the now globally loved and recognised ‘ Melbourne Sound’.

Sparks is also the fastest rising star in the current Australian dance music scene.

Since his genre-defining track ‘ Ah Yeah’ made number three on the Beatport charts at the end of 2012, the Melbourne-bred sensation has continued to pick up a string of accolades.

Ranked number two Australian DJ in the In The Mix top 50 DJ’s, Sparks also won the In the Mix Awards gong for last year’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

He was head-hunted to remix ‘ Blurred Lines’ – one of the biggest pop songs of 2013 and also, he embarked on his debut North American and European tours.

His praised musical talent and energetic electro-house beats have earned him support from some of the biggest performing artists of today.

Mama’s marketing and promotions manager Mark Riley said Will Sparks was a special DJ because of his following, his production talent and his capability to bring mass crowds to all his gigs, playing in front of 100,000-plus crowds at the biggest festivals in Australia and overseas.

“To have Will Sparks in Mama Africa is not only good for the club but great for Airlie Beach,” he said.

“We need to get the party goers back into town and this is another big step Mama Africa are taking to help this cause.”

General tickets cost $30 and are selling fast. VIP tickets cost $80 and when the

went to press there were only limited numbers left.
