Dan­ger­ous driv­ing

A WOMAN who was more than three times the le­gal limit was charged af­ter a two-ve­hi­cle crash at the round­about on Seav­iew Drive in Air­lie Beach on Satur­day morn­ing.

Of­fi­cer in Charge of the Whit­sun­day Sta­tion Act­ing Se­nior Sergeant Barry Haran said two ve­hi­cles had col­lided at the in­ter­sec­tion.

He said the first ve­hi­cle ca­reered through the in­ter­sec­tion tak­ing out a power box and a shed at the rear of the X Base Back­pack­ers.

The fe­male driver left the scene but was later charged with dan­ger­ous driv­ing, fail­ing to re­main at the scene and drink-driv­ing, af­ter re­turn­ing a read­ing of 0.166 per cent. She re­ceived mi­nor in­juries as a re­sult of the crash.
