Local couple enjoys their first Valentine’s Day as newlyweds

Whitsunday Times - - MOTORING -

WHILE some people are hoping for cupid’s arrow to strike this Valentine’s Day, Cannonvale residents Madison and Rebecca French will be celebrating it for the first time as a married couple.

The high school sweethearts have been together for the past nine years and were married in a beach ceremony on the Gold Coast in front of more than 120 family and friends last month.

The couple relocated to the Whitsundays in June last year, and said they were excited to spend their first Valentine’s Day as Mr and Mrs French in the Whitsundays.

“I still remember the very first Valentine’s Day gift that Madison gave me. It was a pair of rose printed multi-grip pliers when we were 16,” Mrs French said with a laugh.

The happy couple have planned a romantic night at home and will be cooking a delicious three course dinner with tiramisu for dessert.

“We decided to have a dinner and drinks at home for Valentine’s Day because we are trying to save for a house,” Mr French said.

“We loved every moment of our wedding but we both agreed, that if we hadn’t have already paid the deposit, we would have loved to have our wedding on Hamilton Island.”

YOUNG LOVE: Rebecca and Madison French were married at a beautiful ceremony on the Gold Coast on January 4, and will be enjoying a three course dinner at their home in Cannonvale this Valentine's Day.
