Romance to reign at Whitsundays wedding expo

Whitsunday Times - - MOTORING -

LOCAL bride-to-be Rozie Graham will be among the excited crowd at the Whitsundays Wedding and Honeymoon Expo held at the PCYC in Airlie Beach on Sunday, February 23 from 10am until 1pm.

Ms Graham got engaged to Stephen O’Brien on the seventh anniversary of their relationship in November last year and she is looking forward to checking out the expo.

“I’ll be heading along with a bridesmaid or two and we are really excited to see what’s on offer,” she said.

“Entertainment is something that we need to sort out as well as flowers and plenty of other things.”

With the wedding expo just around the corner, Whitsundays Marketing and Development Limited (WMDL) want to know what the public’s idea of romance is.

A competition on the Visit Whitsundays Facebook page is asking locals to share their idea of romance to win one of three ultimate prizes including a weekend in Airlie Beach. More than 50 of the region’s leading wedding and honeymoon product and service providers will exhibit at the expo to provide expert advice to help plan weddings in the Whitsundays.

From beauty services, wedding venues, cake creators and make-up artists and photographers, florists and entertainment services, the expo will be a showcase of what’s on offer for couple’s to plan their dream wedding.

On the day, there will be many more prize giveaways, including the major prize – A Wedding Kickstarter package valued at over $3800 including a make-up package for the bridal party, a wedding cake and a full ceremony voucher from a celebrant.

Other highlights include a fashion show by the region’s famous Haute Couture Bridal designer Kim Harris and mini bus tours to open houses at wedding venues in and around Airlie Beach.

HAPPY COUPLE: Locals Rozie Graham and Stephen O'Brien got engaged last year and Rozie is off to the Whitsundays Wedding Expo next weekend to make preparations for their big day later on this year.
