Tennis open day a big hit

Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

TENNIS players of all ages took to the Proserpine tennis courts on Saturday for the club’s 2014 open day.

The open day was a chance for new and returning players to meet with fellow players and the club’s new coach Dominic Kohen.

Kohen and senior players from the club helped run a number of tennis games for junior players, who all had a great time running around and meeting new people.

Club officials were happy with the turnout but said it would be great to see junior and senior numbers increase as the season goes on.

There was a barbecue to finish off the day and some lucky players took home tennis prizes including racquets and other gear to get them ready for the season.

The Proserpine Tennis Club offers junior fixtures on Monday afternoons from 3.305.30pm as well as private coaching, cardio tennis and senior fixtures.

For more information contact head coach Dominic Kohen on 0422 262 581 or via email at barrierreeftennis@outlook.com, or call the club on 4945 3535.
