Whit­sun­day golfers back on course af­ter bad weather

A SMALL field of com­peti­tors took to the bat­tered but re­cov­er­ing course last Sun­day to play a stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion.

The course was in re­mark­ably good con­di­tion thanks to the hard­work of greens staff af­ter ma­jor in­un­da­tion over the last few weeks.

A grade was won by Brad Bowring on 37 ahead of Rod Wecker on 33.

Mark Ni­col won B grade on 37 with Dean Kercher sec­ond on 28 and in C grade Wilf Her­weg was the champ on 32.

The ladies win­ner was An- na Win­ter­bourn on 32, just clear of Beryl Miller on 31.

Long­est drives came from Lance Lloyd (A grade), Dean Kercher (B grade), Wilf Her­weg (C grade) and Anna Win­ter­bourn (ladies).

Near­est-the-pins in A grade were Rod Wecker on hole 1 and Ross Richards on 2.

Clos­est in B grade was Dean Kercher on hole 2 and Anna Win­ter­bourn took it out for ladies on the same hole.

Next Sun­day will be the Fe­bru­ary monthly medal pro­vided weather al­lows and suf­fi­cient num­bers play.

Tee off will be at 7.30am.
