Whitsunday golfers back on course after bad weather
A SMALL field of competitors took to the battered but recovering course last Sunday to play a stableford competition.
The course was in remarkably good condition thanks to the hardwork of greens staff after major inundation over the last few weeks.
A grade was won by Brad Bowring on 37 ahead of Rod Wecker on 33.
Mark Nicol won B grade on 37 with Dean Kercher second on 28 and in C grade Wilf Herweg was the champ on 32.
The ladies winner was An- na Winterbourn on 32, just clear of Beryl Miller on 31.
Longest drives came from Lance Lloyd (A grade), Dean Kercher (B grade), Wilf Herweg (C grade) and Anna Winterbourn (ladies).
Nearest-the-pins in A grade were Rod Wecker on hole 1 and Ross Richards on 2.
Closest in B grade was Dean Kercher on hole 2 and Anna Winterbourn took it out for ladies on the same hole.
Next Sunday will be the February monthly medal provided weather allows and sufficient numbers play.
Tee off will be at 7.30am.
