Sea­son un­der­way for Whit­sun­day FC

WHIT­SUN­DAY FC’s se­nior men’s team will face a tough test this Sun­day when they take on Rangers in Mackay in the first round of the Foot­ball Queens­land (FQ) Cup.

The FQ cup is bring­ing state-wide knockout foot­ball back to Queens­land af­ter an ab­sence of 13 years and 136 clubs from across the state will be com­pet­ing over the com­ing months.

The team played warm-up games against in Bowen last weekend and will be keen to carry-on their 2013 form into the new sea­son. WFC went on a stun­ning late run last sea­son to make it all the way to the grand fi­nal where they fell short against Mackay side Wan­der­ers.

Pre-sea­son train­ing has been un­der­way for sev­eral weeks now and the team are de­ter­mined to put in a good show­ing in one of the club’s big­gest games in re­cent his­tory.

Rangers will host WFC at 1pm this Sun­day at their field in Mackay and en­try is free.


Whit­sun­day FC’s ju­nior sign-on will be held on Wed­nes­day, Fe­bru­ary 26 and Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 28 be­tween 5.30-6.30pm at the Whit­sun­day Sports Park.

The club is chas­ing boys and girls aged four and over to get in­volved in foot­ball this sea­son.

Play­ers of all ages and skill lev­els are en­cour­aged to get in­volved in the world game and par­ent helpers are al­ways wel­come through­out the sea­son.
