Big plans for music festival
RICHARD Clapton, Euroglyders and Angry Anderson will be among the big names performing at this year’s Airlie Beach Music Festival.
Some of last year’s favourites including Wanita the Honky Tonk Queen, Mason Rack and 8-Ball Aitken will also be back.
Organisers are currently negotiating with several other big names to ensure a huge line up on the main stage.
Festival promoter Gavin (Butto) Butlin said it was full steam ahead with organising this year’s festival.
He said there had been a lot of interest in tickets from people interstate, including people who were here for last year’s inaugural event.
The festival will again run over three days at 16 venues throughout Airlie Beach and ticket holders will also be able to attend the jam session on the Thursday night with a lot of the big name performers.
Early bird three-day tick- ets are already available through the Mackay Entertainment Centre for $245.
This is the discounted price for the first 1000 ticket holders with the standard price this year of $260 for three days.
“Last year’s event was awesome and the feedback has been great,” Mr Butlin said. “We will be announcing more acts as the date gets closer but I encourage everyone to buy tickets soon so that no-one missed out,” he said.
This year’s festival will be held on November 7, 8 and 9.
