Decline in mobile use
POLICE have noticed a definite decline in the use of mobile phones by drivers in the past week. Of the 18 traffic tickets issued, none were for using a mobile phone while driving. Officer in Charge of the Whitsunday Station, Acting Senior Sergeant Barry Haran reminded residents that more traffic operations were under way using marked and unmarked cars.
“A hands-free kit is the cheapest and safest option,” he said.
