De­cline in mo­bile use

PO­LICE have no­ticed a def­i­nite de­cline in the use of mo­bile phones by driv­ers in the past week. Of the 18 traf­fic tick­ets is­sued, none were for us­ing a mo­bile phone while driv­ing. Of­fi­cer in Charge of the Whit­sun­day Sta­tion, Act­ing Se­nior Sergeant Barry Haran re­minded res­i­dents that more traf­fic op­er­a­tions were un­der way us­ing marked and un­marked cars.

“A hands-free kit is the cheap­est and safest op­tion,” he said.
