Wed­ding and Hon­ey­moon Expo draws a big crowd

MORE than 430 fu­ture brides, grooms, fam­ily and friends flocked to Whit­sun­day PCYC on Sun­day to catch a glimpse of the Whit­sun­day Wed­ding and Hon­ey­moon Expo.

On the day vis­i­tors were able to talk to a range of Whit­sun­day sup­pli­ers, get­ting ex­pert lo­cal ex­pert ad­vice on plan­ning their dream wed­ding in the Whit­sun­days.

A ma­jor high­light of the event was the fash­ion show by lo­cal de­signer Kim Har­ris of Kim Mar­cel Art of Cou­ture. Lo­cal mod­els flowed down the cat­walk in her Paris Ro­mance Collection 2013/2014, re­leas­ing four new cou­ture gowns.

Whit­sun­day Mar­ket­ing and De­vel­op­ment Limited (WMDL) chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Da­nial Rochford said the expo was ex­tremely suc­cess­ful.

“I was de­lighted to see so many fu­ture brides and grooms from within our re­gion but also Mackay, Towns- ville and even from in­ter­state at­tend­ing the expo and plan­ning their wed­ding in the Whit­sun­days,” he said.

“This is a great re­sult and we have had great feed­back from ex­hibitors that have re­ceived di­rect book­ings and fu­ture leads, pro­vid­ing im­me­di­ate re­turn on in­vest­ment for their busi­ness.”

Mr Rochford said the expo would con­tinue into its sec­ond year in 2015.
