Wedding and Honeymoon Expo draws a big crowd
MORE than 430 future brides, grooms, family and friends flocked to Whitsunday PCYC on Sunday to catch a glimpse of the Whitsunday Wedding and Honeymoon Expo.
On the day visitors were able to talk to a range of Whitsunday suppliers, getting expert local expert advice on planning their dream wedding in the Whitsundays.
A major highlight of the event was the fashion show by local designer Kim Harris of Kim Marcel Art of Couture. Local models flowed down the catwalk in her Paris Romance Collection 2013/2014, releasing four new couture gowns.
Whitsunday Marketing and Development Limited (WMDL) chief executive officer Danial Rochford said the expo was extremely successful.
“I was delighted to see so many future brides and grooms from within our region but also Mackay, Towns- ville and even from interstate attending the expo and planning their wedding in the Whitsundays,” he said.
“This is a great result and we have had great feedback from exhibitors that have received direct bookings and future leads, providing immediate return on investment for their business.”
Mr Rochford said the expo would continue into its second year in 2015.
BRIDAL SHOW: Local models John Fowler, Rianna Connors, Michelle Pelzer, Kylie Anne Gough, Monica Willemsen, Kim Harris of Kim Marcel Art of Couture, Kya Dempsey, Celeste Horner, Mei Elson, Kristy Johnson and Kym Schwerdt dazzled on the catwalk at the Whitsunday Wedding and Honeymoon Expo held at the PCYC on Sunday.
