Ten­nis ac­tion heat­ing up

PIC­TURE per­fect weather, great com­pany and fan­tas­tic ten­nis set the scene for a su­perb day of Satur­day af­ter­noon so­cial ten­nis at the Cannonvale State School courts.

The af­ter­noon com­menced at 1pm and wound down at 5pm. Some of those happy to hit the courts were Rae Miller, Rex Robin­son, Keith Miller and Gra­ham Cur­tis.

Tues­day evening so­cial ten­nis is prov­ing pop­u­lar with a mix of ages from 17-years up to the more ma­ture play­ers, all mix­ing in to­gether.

David Nolan gave it his best shot as did other at­ten­dees on the evening.

Thurs­day evening had a fine mist keep­ing play­ers cool on the court and a fan­tas­tic set of dou­bles was played by Anna Now­icki, Norm Hold, Tas Hag­ger and Dar­ren Rusk.

Just Do It ju­nior so­cial ten­nis was spec­tac­u­lar with all courts in ac­tion.

New­com­mers Kody and Jessie Smylie and Mcken­zie Mur­phy gave it their best shot and the club is still seek­ing par­ent to as­sist the ses­sion.

Tues­day af­ter­noon ten­nis at the Cannonvale State School courts saw the su­per group put through their paces with plenty of ac­tion.

This group trains ev­ery Tues­day and are a great bunch of chil­dren.

Coach­ing pupils of the week were Demi and Macy Cur­sio, Con­ner and Mikala Pearce, Ko­han and Jor­dyn Mau, Shayla Flynn and Katie McDon­ald.

These young­sters put in a great ef­fort on their fore­hands. Ten­nis Whit­sun­day mem­ber­ships are now due and payable.

YOUNG GUNS: Just Do It ju­nior so­cial ten­nis stars Jesse Ni­cholo­son, Jasper McKin­non, Mark Ni­chol­son and Kody Smylie played dou­bles on the mini courts on Mon­day af­ter­noon.

IN AC­TION: Jordan Ban­nis­ter hit the Cannonvale State School courts with coach Jenny Kirk­man to im­prove his ground strokes on Mon­day.
