Whitsunday Times - - FRONT PAGE -

THERE is a new buzz around town about the group fitness craze coming from the new state-of-the-art CrossFit 4802 facility in Carlo Drive, Cannonvale.

The facility opened its doors on Monday and will be holding an official open day this Saturday from 10am.

The business is owned and operated by husband and wife team Kyle and Bek Teale, who made it their mission to be the first CrossFit affiliate in the Whitsundays.

The couple launched their business in October last year and due to exponential growth of CrossFit members, were pleased to have the opportunity to relocate to their new facility.

The open air facility boasts more than 220m2 of gym flooring which includes a wide range of fitness equipment, five weightlifting platforms, an array of Olympic weightlifting bars, rowers, a Glute-Ham Developer (GHD) and custom plyometric boxes.

There is also a functional reception/consultation area, bathroom, kitchen and members only relaxation space.

The open day will be open to all members of the community and there will be a range of giveaways and lucky door prizes up for grabs.

Guests are invited to watch current CrossFit 4802 athletes give demonstrations of WOD’s (work out of the day) and special rates on induction packages will be available for those signing up on the day.

Teale said CrossFit was a dynamic and effective way to workout and had been a big hit in all major cities around Australia.

“You see results in yourself really quickly and every day is a different workout which keeps things interesting,” he said.
