Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

WHITSUNDAY MP Jason Costigan is one of a number of MPs believed to be included on a “hit list” of those who could be challenged for party pre-selection at the next State Government election.

“If someone else wants to have a crack, bring it on," he said, in response to reports that Newman Government MPs had been told they would have to re-apply for their positions.

“If there is a challenge, then so be it because that is how our party system works.” Mr Costigan said whatever the outcome, he was proud to have been “a founding father” of the LNP in North Queensland.

“But above all else I'm proud to represent the good people of Whitsunday who were neglected by Labor for two decades before we came along,” he said.

“Every day we get up, we do so with the aim of standing up for our community and making a difference.”
