Great results for local schools
CANNONVALE School is one of 17 state schools in the Whitsunday electorate to receive a share of more than $1million in funding as a result of the Newman Government’s 'Great Results Guarantee' – an initiative designed to boost student outcomes in literacy and numeracy by focusing on the early years of education.
Around the Whitsundays, Proserpine State School was allocated the largest single amount in the opening round of funding of the four-year program, receiving $157,615.
Cannonvale State School received the next biggest allocation of $138,100.
Other allocations in the Whitsunday electorate included $105,058 to Proserpine State High School, $20,954 to Bloomsbury State School, $19,174 to Hamilton Island State School and $8424 to Hayman Island State School.
