Touch com­pe­ti­tion heat­ing up

ALL Whit­sun­day touch teams were in fine form at the Whit­sun­day Sports Park on Mon­day night, with many fast-paced matches tak­ing place.

In the A grade com­pe­ti­tion, Whit­sun­day Food de­feated the Boat­ies 5-1, while Go On Then came away with a nar­row 6-5 win over Pow­ered By Mur­phy.

Last sea­son’s A grade pre­miers Ray White ran cir­cles around Air­lie Mixed post­ing a huge 14-4 win over the side.

In a clash of the codes, the Whit­sun­day Raiders touch foot­ball team, Box­heads, went up against their rugby league ri­vals the Brah­mans in an en­ter- tain­ing match which saw Box­heads come away with an 8-4 vic­tory.

In B grade, Amal­ga­mated de­feated new side Nau­ti­cool in a close match 5-4, while Eclipse de­feated Black­out 8-5.

The Jets also saw off Whit­sun­day Re­gional Coun­cil 5-1.

B grade pre­miers the Wolves showed their skill tak­ing out Heat­stroke with an im­pres­sive 12-4 vic­tory.

All teams must pro­vide a ref­eree at the times spec­i­fied in the touch draw.
