Grafitti

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

I AM not surprised that big open blank space has not been grafittied. It is just too irresistible for someone who loves to tag their names and deface property. I don’t mind street art but tagging is ugly.

I thought as part of the main street upgrade that this wall was going to be some sort of a feature wall not left blank half grey and a block of white.

We could have something so nice in this space. Some form of art and not just a mural, think outside the square a little.

As I am a rate payer I am helping council pay for their budget shortfall I would like to see the council think about commissioning someone or a group to give us something special to look at. Even a campaign that we could advertise all over Australia and Australia only. Help us transform “The great wall of the Whitsundays”. Even shout out to these big budget reno shows like The Block and get some creative ideas happening for our town and it would be awesome if it didn’t cost the ratepayers a cent.

Maybe we should start a petition and put it to council to get something happening here and not just for the tourists to think our town is pretty but for all the resident and ratepayers who look at these eyesores daily. Renee O’Dwyer CANNONVALE
