PROSERPINE Police caught two drink-drivers over the past week. At 10.05pm on March 13, a 32-year-old Bowen man was intercepted on Herbert Street, Proserpine, for a random breath test. The man later returned a breath alcohol concentration of 0.181 per cent. As a result of the high reading his licence was immediately suspended. At 9.50pm on March 14, a 41-year-old Bloomsbury man was intercepted driving on Midge Point Road, Bloomsbury, with an excess breath alcohol concentration of 0.123 per cent. He was also unlicensed due to excess demerit points. Both men will appear in the Proserpine Magistrate’s Court at a later date. Meanwhile, Whitsunday Police apprehended a 52-year-old Cannonvale man with a reading of 0.104 per cent on March 13. A 30-year-old Cannonvale woman who was found driving without a licence on Shute Harbour Road, Cannonvale, just before midnight on March 15, also returned a BAC reading of 0.153 per cent.
