Author to bring story to life at local libraries
LOCAL children’s author Fay Thornley recently published a children’s book Emma the Emu and her Australian Friends and will be reading the book during storytime sessions at the Proserpine and Beach Library next week.
The book is a beautiful compilation of Ms Thornley’s watercolour paintings of Australian na- tive animals and is an interactive story that encourages children to dance and sing.
Ms Thornley first created the story for her grandchildren and was thrilled to now have the opportunity to share the book with others at the region’s local libraries. She will be reading her book at the Proserpine Library on Tuesday, March 25 at 10.30am, and the Beach Library on Friday, March 28 at 10.30am.
Her book will also be read by storytime presenters at the Bowen and Collinsville libraries.
Storytime sessions are for children aged 3-5 years and are designed to develop skills, encourage a love of reading and provide interaction for children and their caregivers.
