Riders let their hair down for t-shirt day

EQUESTRIAN GROUP THE Whitsunday Equestrian Group hosted a dressage t-shirt day competition at Can-nonvalley Pony Club on Sunday.

Club president Tracey Davies said the competition was a great start to the 2014 season since many events had been cancelled due to wet weather or poor ground conditions.

Davies said the dressage tshirt day was designed to allow riders to participate without the fuss of their riding attire or plaiting up their horses.

“It’s a more relaxed day of competition which is a good way to start the season,” she said.

“It gives riders an opportunity to concentrate on their skills without the extra pressure of presentation.”

Equestrian National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) judge and coach Nancy Baretta travelled from Mount Ossa, north of Mackay to judge the event.

The Whitsunday Equestrian Group welcomes all new riders who have an interest in equestrian activities to join the club.
