Close scores as weekly touch comp heats up

ALL lo­cal touch teams were back in ac­tion at the Whit­sun­day Sports Park on Mon­day night, ex­cept for WRC who had a bye.

Many close games were played as a friendly ri­valry be­tween teams continues to grow.

In A grade, Pow­ered by Mur­phy de­feated Whit­sun­day Food in a very close clash 7-6, while Ray White came away with an­other close win over Go On Then 7-6.

Wolves, who com­peted for the first time since mov­ing up to the A grade com­peti- tion, per­formed well to fin­ish in a draw with the Brah­mans 6-6.

The Box Heads con­tin­ued their good form this sea­son run­ning their way to vic­tory over Air­lie Mixed 5-1.

In B grade, Heat­stroke drew with Eclipse 5-5, while the Jets edged out Black­out in a close match 8-7.

The Boat­ies, who played their first game in B grade, ran rings around Amal­ga­mated post­ing a solid 6-2 win over the side.

New team Din­gos played their first game of the sea­son in B grade and even though they lost to Nau­ti­cool 7-0, the young side showed prom­ise and will im­prove with ex­pe­ri­ence.
