WHITSUNDAY TENNIS

SOCIAL tennis and cardio tennis were battered by the weather conditions this week.

Tuesday evening and Saturday afternoon social groups were the only ones to make it out on court for some exhilarating tennis.

Tuesday evening saw a fantastic hour of singles between the boys with all courts in action.

This was followed by some great doubles matches.

Those out playing the game and chasing down the ball were Darcy Larkin, Daniel Scott, Isitolo Maka and Norm Hold to name a few.

Saturday afternoon was light on numbers but not on action as this group didn’t miss a bounce.

Local tennis enthusiasts who feel the urge to have a hit are encouraged to come along and join one of the welcoming groups.

The Wednesday Warrior Squad had Sam Collinson, Cameron Rogers and Nick Cullen giving the older boys a run for their racquets on Wednesday evening.

Congratulations to James Nolan and Daniel Cullen for a superb work ethic on the night.

Sienna and Jordyn Mau, Amy Hungerford, Rebeka Beveridge, Matthew Henning and Trent Murray were in Home Hill for the A Series Junior Development Tournament on the weekend.

They all showed consistent effort in their respective singles matches.

Coaching pupil of the week was newcomer Isaac Benson for his improvement in ball and listening skills.

Junior tennis training mornings will be held during the school holidays on Monday, April 7and Tuesday, April 8 from 8-11am.
