Traffic woes at notorious intersection
A 31-YEAR-OLD Cannonvale woman was transported to Proserpine Hospital for assessment after she was involved in a two vehicle car accident at the intersection of Galbraith Park Drive and Shute Harbour Road about 11.30am last Friday.
A 43-year-old Riordonvale woman driving a red Holden Commodore was issued with a traffic infringement notice for failing to give way to the 31-year-old woman who was driving a Ford Kuga down Shute Harbour Road.
Both drivers were treated at the scene for minor injuries, however the 31-yearold was transported to Proserpine Hospital for assessment.
Whitsunday Police Constable Justin Bailey said the intersection of Galbraith Park Drive and Shute Harbour Road in Cannonvale had a history of traffic incidents.
He said all drivers should adhere to the stop sign and take extra care when giving way to oncoming traffic.
