Traf­fic woes at no­to­ri­ous in­ter­sec­tion

A 31-YEAR-OLD Cannonvale woman was trans­ported to Proser­pine Hospi­tal for as­sess­ment af­ter she was in­volved in a two ve­hi­cle car ac­ci­dent at the in­ter­sec­tion of Gal­braith Park Drive and Shute Har­bour Road about 11.30am last Fri­day.

A 43-year-old Rior­don­vale woman driv­ing a red Holden Com­modore was is­sued with a traf­fic in­fringe­ment no­tice for fail­ing to give way to the 31-year-old woman who was driv­ing a Ford Kuga down Shute Har­bour Road.

Both driv­ers were treated at the scene for mi­nor in­juries, how­ever the 31-yearold was trans­ported to Proser­pine Hospi­tal for as­sess­ment.

Whit­sun­day Po­lice Con­sta­ble Justin Bai­ley said the in­ter­sec­tion of Gal­braith Park Drive and Shute Har­bour Road in Cannonvale had a his­tory of traf­fic in­ci­dents.

He said all driv­ers should ad­here to the stop sign and take ex­tra care when giv­ing way to on­com­ing traf­fic.

IN THE DITCH: A 43-year-old Rior­don­vale woman was is­sued with an in­fringe­ment no­tice af­ter she failed to give way to an on­com­ing ve­hi­cle at the in­ter­sec­tion of Gal­braith Park Drive and Shute Har­bour Road on Fri­day.
