Estate has wide appeal for buyers

Work starts on driving range

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY BUSINESS -

ONLY 34 blocks remain for sale in the first stage of Regatta Waters on the edge of Cannonvale.

This is North Queensland’s newest lifestyle community and will include a tavern, bar, golf pro shop, restaurant and café, forming a lifestyle hub for residents and visitors.

The community is expected to be developed over the next 10 to 15 years and boast a village precinct anchored by golf, shopping, recreation and relaxation.

Project marketing agent Steve Marks of Ray White Whitsunday said the response to the development had far exceeded their expectations.

He said close to 30 per cent of the blocks in the project’s first stage had already been snapped up to the tune of more than $3 million.

“With 15 parcels already accounted for, just 34 sites remain in stage one at Regatta Waters Whitsunday’s which is being developed on a 283.5ha greenfield site at Cannonvale by Latitude Development Group (LDG),” he said.

“We’ve had quite a few local buyers who are upgrading their existing home, as well as resources industry workers who have been living in the area but have, until now, held off purchasing,” he said.

Mr Marks confirmed work had started this week on the golf driving range after six weeks of rain delays.

It is now expected to be open in early May.

The estate’s extensive masterplan also has provisions for a recreational hub with gymnasium, Olympic-size heated lap pool, tennis courts, resort pool, saunas, spas and barbeque area.

The 2500-lot community will embrace the outdoors with abundant green space and individual leisure areas, walking paths, creeks and waterways as well as a professionally-designed golf course as its centrepiece.”

“Buyers are recognising their purchase means not only a new home, but an investment in bettering their lifestyle as a whole,” he said.

LDG director of residential sales Chris Thompson said that in putting together the masterplan for Regatta Waters Whitsundays, the developer had carefully considered what would appeal to a broad market.

“In doing so we have created a community that will capitalise on its idyllic location and pay homage to the Whitsundays way of life,” he said.

“We’ve focused our efforts on creating a truly masterplanned community with significant investment into a village centre that will see Regatta Waters Whitsundays become not just a housing estate, but a lifestyle destination.”

Remaining blocks in the first stage at Regatta Waters Whitsundays range in size from 613sqm to 1010sqm and are priced from $170,000.
