Teams find the try line in weekly touch games

Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

THERE were some big scores on the board of the weekly Whitsunday Touch competition as teams battled it out to cross the chalk on Monday night.

Once again last year’s A grade premiers Ray White showed their skill to defeat Box Heads 11-6, while Go on Then ran rings around Whitsunday Food posting an impressive 13-3 win over the side.

A gallant effort was displayed by the rugby league squad Brahmans who played with four instead of six as they had no girls.

They showed stamina and determination to come away with the win over Powered by Murphy 7-4, while the Wolves were also victorious over Airlie Mixed 4-0.

In the B grade competition, the Boaties were once again on form defeating the Dingos 8-2, while Eclipse went down to Nauticool 5-3.

The two Whitsunday Christian College teams Blackout and Heatstroke faced off in an almighty battle with Blackout coming away with a 10-5 victory over the side.

In one of the final matches of the night, Amalgamated kept 2PT (formerly known as WRC) on the back foot to take out the match 10-7.

All teams are reminded the final payment of fees is due this Monday.

Those needing to pay team fees should message the Whitsunday Touch Facebook page and a representative will forward the account details to complete the payment.

A reminder that teams who have not paid will not receive competition points until the fees are paid in full.

IN ACTION: Go on Then's Byron Taylor looked to score during his team's 13-3 victory over Whitsunday Food at the Whitsunday Sports Park on Monday night.
