Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

AN 18-YEAR-OLD girl was walking home on Herbert Street in Proserpine on Tuesday night when she was approached by a man driving a white dual cab with a black bull bar at 7.30pm.

Whitsunday Crime Investigation Branch (CIB) Lynette Corne said the man yelled out to the 18-year-old and she asked for him to go away.

Ms Corne said the man then got out of the dual cab and attempted to abduct her but she managed to escape.

“Due to the serious nature of this crime we are asking for anyone in the community who may have information to come forward,” Detective Corne said.

The man was described as caucasian with fair skin, standing at approximately 175cm tall and wearing a black hoodie with a wide brimmed fishing hat and blue board shorts.

He was also described as having a “rough Australian accent” and “dirty teeth”.

If anyone has information, they should contact Whitsunday CIB on 4948 8847.
