Waterson Track

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS - Alan Beverstock AIRLIE BEACH

THE sooner we have pre selection for the State seat of the Whitsundays and the sooner we have an administrator take control the Whitsunday Regional Council the better it will be for the tax and rate payers in the region.

We are being neglected by both levels of government. With the disinterest they display in their position and the internal fighting we are becoming the laughing stock of the state.

The Local Government Minis- ter made seething comments on national television about the councils operation.

It was noted that he did not comment on our state member but it will be interesting when pre-selection time comes around.

Waterson Way is just one example of the neglect we are suffering.

When there is a serious accident each will blame the other.

The sooner they decide who is going to make this main thoroughfare their responsibility and start making major improvements in road surface, road marking and lighting the better and safer it will be for the motoring and pedestrian public.
