Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

SATURDAY afternoon social tennis was a great day with lovely weather allowing for some good tennis on court.

The boys outnumbered the girls but this did not stop Kay Hoare and Betty Miller from playing with their usual style and grace.

The match of the day was played by Norm Hold, Rick Galea, Keith Miles and Kay Hoare.

Tuesday and Thursday social tennis demonstrated top tennis, top sportsmanship and plenty of good rallies.

Tad and Anna Nowicki and Norm Hold played on both nights and the match of the evenings was played by Jenny Southern, Graham Curtis and Norm Hold.

Cardio tennis saw the participants enjoy a fun workout with Chris Latter coming to the rescue of his mum Narelle Latter in one of the quick exchange drills.

Monday arvo "Just Do It" junior social tennis was a hot and sweaty afternoon.

After a long day at school the youngsters were full of energy and expended it out on the court.

Two of the pint size players on the junior courts, Ollie Wheway and Jesse Nicholson, had a great day.

Takiti Hagger, Jordan Bannister and Chistopher and Jack Raiteri led the way on the full size courts.

Coaching pupil of the week was Darcy Larkin for consistent effort both on and off the court.

Congratulations to Amy Hungerford, Rebeka Beveridge and Sienna Mau for their match play at the JDS round robin in Townsville.
