Trevor Paroz cleans up at vets comp

A GOOD field of 28 vet­eran golfers played strong games in near per­fect con­di­tions at the Proser­pine Golf Course on Tues­day.

Trevor Paroz had a clean sweep at the event tak­ing out the win in both the 18-hole and 9-hole com­pe­ti­tion.

He came in first in the 18-hole comp with a score of 39, with Mandy Pat­ter­son com­ing in run­ner up on 38.

The ball run­down was Jim Dowell on 36, fol­lowed by Ron Lit­tle on 35, Barry Mor­timer on 35, Tony Wooldridge also on 35 and Andrew McKay on 34.

Near­est-the-pins were Barry Mor­timer for the men and Caro­line Awdry for the ladies.

Paroz posted a score of 22 points to win the 9-hole com­pe­ti­tion, on count­back from Mick Bur­rows also on 22.

In the ball run­down, Bill Jesser fin­ished with a score of 21, ahead of Vic Feld­man on 20, Al­lan Greedy on 19, Mandy Pat­ter­son on 19 and Jim Dowell, Andrew McKay and Les Jones all came in with a score of 18.

Near­est-the-pins for the men was Ron Lit­tle and for the ladies Mandy Pat­ter­son.

The vet­er­ans will be trav­el­ling to com­pete in Collinsville on Tues­day, April 15.

The bus will de­part Cen­tro Whit­sun­day in Cannonvale at 5.45am and will leave the club in Proser­pine at 6.30am.
