WHITSUNDAY Police issued 37 traffic infringement notices and conducted 935 breath tests over the Easter break. Prior to that, just three drink drivers were caught between April 16-18.
At 6.35pm on April 16, a 36-year-old Jubilee Pocket man blew 0.069 and at 4.36am on April 18, a 53-year-old local sailor was caught riding a Honda motorcycle with a reading of 0.091. At 3am that day, police intercepted a Holden Commodore, driven by a 26-year-old Cannonvale man with a reading of 0.09. The man was also found to be driving outside his late night licence restriction.
Other traffic offenders included a 28-year-old Cannonvale man who was caught driving without a licence at 6.45pm on April 15 and a 25-year-old Cannonvale woman, who at 7.50pm on April 16, was seen talking on her mobile phone while driving a Ford station wagon that was unregistered and uninsured.
